Shake Experts Inc got its start in February of 1999 by noted roofing expert, Chris Johnsen, who started in the industry in 1994. Due to our experience in the industry, we proudly became the first roofing company solely dedicated to the care, maintenance, and installation of pine and cedar shakes. We took up this feat due to the many roofing companies that saw shake roofs as being unfixable.
We believe in our work. That is why we stand behind the many thousands of warranties we have issued, following our maintenance services for owners of untreated pine shake homes.

Chris has extensive hands-on experience with pine and cedar shakes. He has earned Certificates of Recognition from Sintech Inspection Ltd for grading Western Red Cedar shakes, as well as the Quality Auditing Institute for grading Northern and Lodgepole pine. Chris is also a Haag Certified Inspector of Residential Roofs, examining numerous homes affected by Alberta's hailstorms.
